This looks like a great place, with my favorite past time. I look forward to the journey! I have already seen some fantastic woodworking.
I am in the process of taking my hobby up a notch and going Pro.
I recently went through a life altering experience that changed my outlook on life. In 2003 I was diagnosed with Colon Cancer, the cancer has been gone since 2004 and I pray it stays that way. The chemo and radiation went OK. But I needed a operation at the end of my treatment, two hours out of surgery everything went downhill. I had caught MRSA in the operating room. MRSA turned into the fleash eating bacteria. To make a long storey short it was a four month long battle to stay alive.
The whole ordeal changed my outlook on life, life is far to precious to waste time working at a job you dont like doing. So I decided to do what I have loved doing since childhood and that is working with wood. I enrolled in a fantastic school, Seattle Central College to study Cabinet Makinng & Fine Woodworking. They have a great video on the Wood Construction program, google the school and check out the video. I find woodworking to be like life, there are always new things to learn. The thought of going back to school was a little scarey at first but, a lot of the other students are also starting a second career the same as I am. I am truely looking forward to what the future holds for me. It feels great after spending thirty-one years in Sheet Metal, a trade that was a job, a way to pay the bills, but never a job I really like. Wood has always been a passion, to me it’s like being able to go play everyday, it’s a blast
Any how this is a great site!!!!!!!!!

Hey Ed—I grew up in Edmonds. Most of my family still lives there. I am in Redmond now. How is that SCCC program? Have you joined any Washington woodworking guilds?
Looking forward to seeing some of your work.
