Arts and Crafts Mirror

This mirror is my design. It’s a little flat, and I could have made the top overhang more, but it was fun designing my own piece.

Mission Mantle Clock

I wanted to share a mantle clock that I recently made as a birthday gift. It’s a simple design from WoodSmith made mostly from QS White oak. It’s a good project to use up all those short boards you’ve been furrowing away.

I did not find a clock face that I felt did justice to a small A&C clock so I made my own. I designed it on the computer, printed it on ivory parchment index stock, and glued it to a 1/4 board. A couple of coats of spray-on poly, and the clock face is good to go.

I’ve attached a couple of pictures to this post. The rest can be found here: http://www.eaglelakewoodworking.com/post/Arts-and-Crafts-Mantle-Clock.aspx

Arts and Crafts Lamp

I made an Arts and Crafts style lamp for my wife for Christmas. It’s based on the Lamp that WOOD magazine offers, but I didn’t have the plans so what you see is my interpretation of WOOD’s design. Building the shade was a challenge, but I’m glad I took the time to do it right – the results were worth the effort.

I cobbled together the light hardware from various parts – the base of an old brass candle holder, a brass plumbing tee, a part of from a brass air line coupler, etc. I wanted a really old look to the fixture.

I attached Buffalo nickels for the cord pulls. We’re from Buffalo, NY and my wife likes all things Buffalo.

Arts and Crafts Pool Table

It’s spring 2007 and I’ve finally started my pool table project. It’s a project that I’ve tossed around for quite a while, but didn’t think that I’d ever start. It’s coming along nicely, but it does seem pretty far off until I get to shoot my first game.

The whole experience is being presented in a multipart video series on my web site. FOr anyone who hasn’t seen the first five videos on the pool table, they can be found here:
