I went to a auction this weekend. The add said it had woodworking tools. I picked up a Delta universal tennoning jig #34-184 brand new in the box. It had not even been opened. I snatched it up for $45.00. I also picked up a Dewalt 682 bisquit joiner for $45.00 also it had not been used but only a couple of times. I also pick up a older craftsman 6” by 36” bed. It only has a little bit of surface rust on it. It will clkean up nice. I check the bed out this morning, the bed is flat as can be and the fence is a perfect 90 to the bed. I got it for $90.00.

I was really surprised that they had a little bit older Delta unisaw there, with the ext table with it and was on the roller base. It only went for $750.00

Sounds like you got some deals.

I love auctions. My wifes parents go to them all the time and they’re supposed to be on the lookout for woodworking tools for me. Supposed is the key word as they’ve only found 4 pipe clamps over the past 2 years. And they go atleast once a month.

I went to a local one last November. It was a cabinet shop closing up. I didn’t buy much as most everything went kinda high (like the delta boss spindle sander going for $250). Plus I was holding out for that PM66 w/ 52” rails. It came with a mobile base, an extension table, bench dog router lift, and the porter cable 3 1/4 hp router.

I didn’t win it. Although from about $700 up it was between me and the guy that did win. He got it for $1600. Told me afterward he would have went to $2000.

That PM66 was in phenomenal shape though. So without seing it, $750, at an auction, sounds about right for that Unisaw.

Always nice to get a great deal on something you can use. I love to browse swap meets, garage sales and the like when I have the time.

We have an auction barn nearby but tools are not a common item….Ocassionally, I have found some nice planes….a few really nice marking/measuring tools….and some items I can’t identify. They are starting to have more auctions with items that are not considered “antiques” so I am hoping perhaps they will sell some more modern versions of tools.
