« Part 2: Cabinets and Books Shelf Construction Part 3 of Family Room Built-Ins series no next part

Well, the project is now completed …..... finally…....

This took a lot longer than anticipated, especially when you can only get an hour here and an hour there to work on it. But in the end, I love the way it turned out. Originally, I thought of floating shelves on either side of the stone fireplace but much happier that I went this route. The base cabinets offer so much more storage and the wife is filling them up already! She`s happy so I`m happy – at least that`s what I’ve been told :-)

The amount of painting was excruciating. My wife selected a beautiful off white color and it went on easy, just seemed to take forever waiting for coats to dry.

All trim except for the baseboard I used on the bottom of the cabinet were custom made by me. Fluted molding, headers cut to fit around the crown molding, plinth blocks are all done from mdf.

Thanks for looking!
