Okay more like one day spread over two days, yet i finished it though it ended up being a cougar rather than a panther. I like it more and the wood just made me go that direction. I started taking pictures of the figure refinement, but realized after a while, there was no card in the camera.. so I missed some shots. What you missed was the muscle, joints, and head shape refinement. Which I copied off pictures of large cats on-line. Sorry about that…
I always rub a wipe on varnish on the wood prior to starting the fine details. Just seems to toughen up the weaker fibers, so I get less chips and tearing….
I added fang and claws…
Refined the eyes and ears more…
Added paw pads on the feet…
It’s a boy cat…
It was important for Matthew to have his name on the wand…
ON to adding the crystal into the tail spiral.. it was mentioned by my creative team that the end looked “too snake like” so I made it into a blunt, but furry tail…


A few more final coats of finish and then I made him a box, but that is on the final “Project” post.
