I am a sculptor, designer, and craftsmen working in wood, clay, some glass, soft metals, bas relief and subtractive illustration/painting. 14 years in own studio, 10 years woodworking... I carve, turn, bend, laminate, and manipulate wood in anyway I choose to make something beautiful and meaningful. I find wood and trees fascinating and worth reverence. I make small ritual items as "Phi Artifacts" but that is just beginning and just purchased the domain name. I do this for fun and I worked long and hard to have this amazing life to make art full time. Oh.. I am in need of an assistant, if you know anyone in the the Chicago area.

I am basically a scientist and inventor at heart.... and I have way too many interests that inspire my work: tree biology, forest ecology, mythology, spiritual symbolism, social psychology, physics, astrophysics, art history, and music. Woodworking is my greatest tool and my first love. I have a background in Industrial Design and Sculpture, and a graduate from the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design.

Lately I have been under pressure to have a solo show, so I have been busy working to produce a solid body of work. Most of my recent woodworking has been in support for my other work of sculpture and illustration.
