I’ve never been able to follow someone else’s plans, because inevitably I come upon a step that I could do better and the plans go out the window! No offence intended, I just have my own way of doing things, always have. I can picture something in my mind of how it will look when it’s completed, and it just moves from there. This goofy thing works quite well! I’m Very Blessed!

So last Thursday I look over at the neighbors house and there’s a recliner upside down, sitting out in the trash. hmmmm I thought. I’ll bet there’s some springs and levers and such I could use off of that!

After looking at it up close I said damn I’ll just take the whole thing.

I had to clean all the dog hair, dust and webs off of it and…she cleaned up nicely.
I tossed it up on the bench and stretched it out to see just how this thing works.

It took about an hour but I came up with a basic frame shape.

At this point I still don’t know what I want to do. I can’t decide if it’s going to be indoor or outdoor furniture. I thought I could cover it with oak, it sure would look pretty in the house. But I don’t have room for another recliner. And in the house,? I want a cushy chair to sit in,...I’ll just build it out of cedar and maybe put it in the Florida room.
Here I put some cedar slats across to line up the back and bottom and mounted an arm rest frame. like the slats HATE the arm rest…thing!

Tomorrow’s another day!
