My workshop is our two car garage, and yes both vehicles stay outside, and yes, that is a bone of contention from time to time. About six years ago, I started replacing my worn out cheap tools. I do not have everything I want, but I do have more than I ever had, and enough to do most any project that comes up. Being that I am a hobbiest, and do not sell any of my work, I consider myself blessed to have a wife that lets me indulge myself.

Dwayne, you have a nice shop in which to work. I would have to agree your wife if pretty indulgent if she allows you to use HER garage for your shop area. I can guarantee you that if I tried that I would be outside before my wife’s vehicle would be. I have often said that I am glad we added a third garage in our walk-out basement when we built that I later converted into my shop. It looks like you have organized your shop well and you appear to have ample space to move around in there between the tool stations.
Thanks for the pictures. I enjoyed touring your shop.

Dwayne,
Nice shop layout. I see you did the same thing with your ladders that I did with mine. Nice tools too!
Your garage / shop looks to be a hair bigger than mine, but not by much… Does having the router table free standing work well for you? I LOVE having mine in the extension wing of the table saw…

The only thing wrong with your shop is there are not near enough tools. I would highly recommend
Festool, Bosch, Freud, Steel City, Jet, Kreg,————etc, etc. If you need me to point you in the direction of a good supplier, call me.

Oh, and what do you mean, “wife who lets me indulge myself” I’ve seen her death grip on the check book!
(Hi Mrs Sneed—just kidding——really I am)

Thank you all for your kind comments.
David you are welcome in my shop ANYTIME.
Thanks Kent, I think that I know the way; had a hard time today driving past without stopping but the wife’s death grip had moved from the check book to my throat. Maybe she will shop with you for my Christmas. I do not think I can get away with buying her another bandsaw for Christmas this year.

looks like we work in very similar environments. I also use a two car garage, but im haveing to share with five bicycles. Very soon i will need that space as well. It also looks like you have accumulated a few more toys than myself. Im starting to think about investing in a good dust collection system, i hate to do it because of limited space and cash, but it is becoming a bother. All i have is a rigid shop vac similar to yours, is that all you use?
Nice work space, i would feel right at home.
