I know I am kind of late to get into the Craft Shows this year but first I need to decide if doing Craft Shows is the thing for me. Do I want to tie up my weekends with the shows. But first I guess a little background on me. I love woodworking. Seeing a finished project that someone likes and uses is enjoyable. As I am sure most do I hate sanding and I constantly work at trying to cut down on the sanding. I work full time in IT for a large company. I am leaving at the end of the year...

Part 2: What does it take?

In this blog I want to address this issue of “Who will man the booth”. So I have identified 10 Craft Shows that I want to go and walk around to see what it is all about and learn more. I have intentionally selected larger Craft Shows – most of which are Juried – on purpose. Some are 2 day shows and some are 3 day shows. The only down side to all of this is 3 of them are on the same weekend. I should be able to see all 3 in one day but it will be some traveling. ...

Part 3: My first Major Craft Show

Well, if my first trip to see a large show is any indication of how this journey is going to go… I researched Craft Shows online. This craft show that I attended today said they would have 10,000 individuals attending. We were at the craft show for about an hour – left to get something to eat – then returned to the craft show. When we were there the first time – there could not have been 30-50 people there. I know it was a little early but that was a shock. I...
