I'm a carpenter/builder from Norway, which entails lots of woodworking as wood is the most common house building material in Scandinavia (except for Denmark, I believe, where masonry is more common). I love to create and shape things, and nothing gives me a better feeling of satisfaction than taking a few steps back and look at a job well done (by me:). Often I will drive detours to look at a house I've built, and seeing people living inside always puts a smile on my face.
Recently I've taken up an interest in creating furniture. It started when I made a coffee table from an old pallet as a temporary solution, and realized that I am actually capable of making decent furniture with these XXL hands of mine. Since then I've been making increasingly complex pieces of furniture (although nowhere *near* the stuff being displayed here on LJ), and I'm starting to believe that I've become addicted to something other than coffee for the first time in my life!
