I am curious if a dual mode sander will take the place of a hand held belt sander. I am kinda in the market for one and not sure if the dual mode sander will replace my belt sander as far as stock removal or should I get another belt sander, thanks for any thoughts

I think a belt sander probably has more power and therefore can remove material faster than a dual mode sander. I use my belt sander for the heavy work and switch over to the Deros sander for doing the finish sanding.

I have not used my belt sander since i bought a festool rotex…..with exception to laminate work.

Very fast and efficient

Festool is the only dual mode sander i have experience with

Have your say...
