It’s amazing that a supplier doesn’t see the importance of customer service in this down economy. I feel the same way…if they act like they don’t want my money I’ll spend it elsewhere.

Completely understand your point of view. Voting with our feet and dollars may be the only way for a business to get the picture.

I have had the same problem, that local business man is no longer in business. I waited 2 weeks for a part, went to the store the day he promised, “oh, I forgot to order it, I ‘ll do that right away”, I left never returning, ordered my part on the phone had it in a week, the local business man called a week after that saying the part was in, I said ok, then I forgot to go pick it up.

There is no excuse for poor customer service and I will quickly take my business somewhere else.

I try to support the local biz in this small town, but some times I just can’t do it. Some time ago I needed 575 8×16 cinder blocks for a project as well as around 100 pavers. I stopped by the big orange store and they were .99 each for the big blocks with 25 buck delivery. I went to the local store, and they were 2.19 with free delivery. The local store finally asked me how many I wanted, and dropped their price to 1.75, still with free delivery. The blocks came from the same manufacture, and I had to take my biz to the bos 30 miles away.
