Marius
I live right in the middle of the largest city in Alaska….....Anchorage. Note you are from Prince George.
I think we northerners get used to the moose, here is a picture taken from my front porch a while back….....

You can always tell if someone is new to Alaska if they have stopped at the side of the road to take a picture of moose. They don’t understand that they will be able to photograph them from their kitchen window…....(-:

Oh, and perhaps one of my most vivid memories of moose comes from Fairbanks, where I lived for 8 years a ways out of town. We had 4 dogs at the time, including 2 fox terriers, who always barked at the moose from the safety of a forested one acre dog run surrounded by a 6 foot chain link fence.

One day as I was working in the garden 5 moose came over the river and up the bank into our turnaround drive area. That brought them right next to the dog run. Those fox terriers did their usual thing, probably aided by our Saluki and of all things, our 160 pound Irish Wolf Hound, probably mistaken for a wolf by the moose. Three of those moose mock charged the fence, their neck hair standing on end and the ground shaking as they abruptly stopped in front of fence.

You never saw 4 dogs run so fast, as they high tailed it to the other end of their forested dog run. Moose can be pretty formidable. And I exited the garden and got into the house running about as fast as those dogs.
