I was able to visit this on thursday of this past week… what a blast. I was really there for a Real Estate Convention but snuck away from the MGM grand on thursday morning and visited the show till the evening… I will post a bunch of the pictures I took and some thoughts… the one real thought was… dang I wish I had more time for this. It is about like having half a day for disneyworld… Impossable.. overwhelming and totally fun. Next year it will be in Atlanta… I am planning to be there. Guys… for a hobbiest this was crazy. I actually spend a bit of time with my buddy Richard(Owns Timberline Tools which is for example the largest powermatic industrial distributor left of the mississippi) looking at CNC machines as he does’nt get much time to look at $120 to $300K machines side by side. They were nuts. Turning out mass produced cool furniture in no time at all. One company was making head boards in about 6 minutes that would take me 3 days to make. One could make a solid alder door in about the same time. The automated spray booths were nuts as well. One highlight was meeting Mark and Nichole Spagnuolo… how cool was that. I think Ill get a domino just cause he was working Festools booth… however much I dont like what the company did to my bud… I was not there for the “Unveiling” at the Delta booth but I think they rebadged everything. I did get to see the new variable speed drill press from them and may trade my new powermatic in… I also may switch my new Unisaw to a Sawstop… It was a cool event…

totally worth going. Steel City had a Granite topped table saw and everyone seems to be gettin Riving kinfes on their saws… The other thing that was neat was Powermatic actually has an accessory for their PM2000… It is a workbench for their table saw… I know that would be handy for me… If I get the SawStop perhapse i could talk them into making one the same way…

Very nice Drew! Glad to hear you were able to go (and welcome back). I bet it was a treat to see all of those tools in one place! It looks like a great opportunity to find out what is going on in the woodworking tools world of today. I hope you have more pictures to post.
And how many orders did you place while you were there?
