Location: Green River, WY

I've been carving off and on for a lot of years.... (hell, I'm so old I can remember my grandmother cranking her phone to get the attention of the local operator. In fact, I have that phone hanging on the wall). In an earlier career I worked as a carpenter, building custom houses for several years (I even had the joy of working with an Amish crew for about 1-1/2 years). Unfortunately, I got away from woodworking for a lot of years, went to Purdue, became a chemical engineer, worked in industry.... Since I've retired, I've regained my senses and I've been doing some woodworking, building some cabinetry, lots of woodcarving (in every loose log and twig I can round up I look for the "wood's spirit", carving everything from walking sticks to totems).

Welcome to Lumber Jocks! This is a great place to get – or give – advice about woodworking on the forums and the project posts are a wonderful source of new ideas. I look forward to seeing your projects and posts.

To get the most feedback on your projects, it’s best to only post 1 or 2 at a time. This way you will get feedback over several days and from a wide variety of members.

Please enjoy your membership.
