The family popped into DC yesterday at my request to visit the exhibit of the Bresler Collection of wood turning and carving. It was not a huge exhibit—about 50 pieces—but each of them was unique and in general the level of craftsmanship was awe-inspiring.
The exhibit link has nice shots of all the pieces, but here’s a few of my favorite pieces as shot on my cell phone—I forgot to bring the real camera.

I hope that titillates your interest! If you’re in DC make time to go see the exhibit. (And while you’re there, see the Maloof chair on the second floor.)

Very nice. I went to the Renwick years ago when they happened to have a Maloof exhibit. I remember watching a video on his work and sitting in one of his chairs. I was inspired but never hoped to do any wood work. What an amazing journey life is!
