51 yr old and recently retired from my first career, and about to enter a 2nd career to pay for hobbies, vacations, etc.
I consider myself an intermediate level woodworker. My interest was captured in high school and after graduation but I didn't have the means, space or equipment to pursue it. Then came Norm Abram and my interest was re-kindled. I began to acquire tools and eventually built a stand alone workshop in my backyard. Soon my need for furniture was being met by my creations.
Woodworking then was put on the back burner when an addition to my home became necassary to accomdate a growning family. Once the kdis reached high school and college I found more time to pursue my hobby.
I'm intersted in cabinet construction, furniture, home remodeling, creative wood projects, and improving my skills all around. While I re-started my woodworking venture I was mostly interested in power tools, fixed machinery, etc. The more I ventured and the more I learned the more I became interested in hand tools. Now I'm looking to fine tune my skills and maybe one day making my work pay for itself as I pursue custom cabinetry for clients.
