What is the best way to lift/remove black crayon from fresh, untreated pine before the final sand / stain , etc. My daughter wrote on the finished side of my coffee table top (my fault). Any recommendations / expertise would be greatly appreciated. The table is 80 %; pictures are soon to follow.
Thank you.

If you have a hand plane, a very light pass will take it right off. Crayon is not that different from the material used in grease pencils, which are often used to mark surfaces for levelling, etc.

Sanding will remove it. Card scraper too.
