Location: Gulf Breeze, FL (near Pensacola, FL)

I am a retired Navy vet. I served for 31 years in various billets as well as two tours in SSN and SSBN submarines. I will be 71 y/o in February 2011. I have completed a few projects including a bookcase, a cabnet, a fireplace cover, a bench seat, and a 3-dimentional cross. I enjoy making sawdust out of good wood. Most are projects of necessity, but a few are ones that I desired to tackle. I have few power tools and therefore joints are hand made and pinned. I lost some tools and wood through hurricane Ivan.
Update: I have more tools and as the posts indicate, I've been fairly busy making stuff. I am gainfully employed keeping the house and grounds up as well as making sawdust in the garage.

Welcome to Lumberjocks. The projects are an inspiration, the information is priceless and the people are supportive. The only problem is, the site can get addictive.

God Bless

Tom, I fully understand “addictive”. I’ve just signed on and its been 2 hours all ready. Time to sign off and work on the “honey do” list. Being retired just means not getting paid for your work.

Welcome to Lumber Jocks! I hope you enjoy your membership as much as I do. This is a great place to get, or give, advice and the projects are truly inspirational.

Take care.

Welcome. You have found the right place for woodworking. A great group of people willing to help. Looking forward to see your projects and comments. Work safe in the shop and don’t forget to use pushsticks.

I have to say, for a guy with few power tools you churn out some extraordinary work. You should give yourself a pat on the back.

Keeping producing that sawdust mate.
