measure the distance between the pulley centers…The distance in inches equals the distance in 64ths the belt should deflect under normal hand pressure

Thanks Mickey, when I bought the belts I measured 9 inches with the top pully to the bottom pully. The pully width is 3-1/4”. Went to the belt store and got the belts with those dimensions, but there seems to be to much play in lenghth, they won’t come off, but still seems to be loose enough to put drag on the blade.

Does it deflect more than 9/64th in that length? If so, get a slightly smaller belt if the motor pulley is not adjustable. Does it slip during use -like through a piece of oak , for instance? If not. leave it be and just use it.
