I recently picked up some lumber from a local farmer listed in a local paper. He has had this drying for serveral years in his barn, varoius assortment of cherry, oak and maple. He was getting ready to clear another several acres so he was anxious to get rid of it to make more room. I liked the way he graded it for sale: clear/no knots $1.00 a board foot, any knots .50 a foot. Needless to say I loaded up..with 4 truckloads. Should last me for awhile.
good buy. that will keep the projects coming for a long time. i bought some ash from a local farmer. i told him i would buy 100 bf for $50. when he delivered it he had a whole 3/4 ton pick up load for $50. he would not take any more for it. said he had more than he needed or would ever use. he set the price.
Some days I hate living in the middle of a desert… I am with SPalm… Grrrr.
