Bamboo vs Cedar - 4 replies
I’m in the planning stages of make a Barley Harvest Grandfather Adirondack Chair. I just saw that Menard’s have 1X6X12’ Bamboo decking for $.99/linear ft. My question is this viable wood to use for outdoor furniture? Can it be glued, sanded, and stained? Or should I spring for Cedar which is $.55/linear ft. more?

I found this 6”, 3/4 HP jointer on Craigslist and it appears to pretty hefty (wt 165 lb) and in very good shape. The owner says one of the knives is a little high but all are in good shape. 2X2 table legs - 8 replies
I have a set of plans for a coffee table in which they make the 2X2 legs by riping 1X6’s at a 45 degree angle and gluing the four sides together. Has anyone tried this method and is it worth the extra work? An 8ft. 1X6 red oak is $14 and the 2X2s are $19 at my local mill. If I make the coffee and two end tables it would be a savings of...
