Hello

A month ago I cut a tree in my garden and yesterday I begin to digging and …............

BIIIIGGGGGGGGGGGG surprise

And now I will dig and dig again to cut the roots as deeply as possible

I like the surprise but …......

I took out a slash pine a couple years back and used my buddys dually pickup to pull the tap root out. The root was about 10’ long and perfectly straight. It was so interesting that I stuck it back in the ground, upside down, yard ornament style, with the root pointing to the sky. It lasted about 2 years, then it went to the burn pile.

This is a great gift for a turner like you ! And/or you may end up with wonderful book match boards from it for some of your projects. As I’m writing I suddently feel jealous ! Great find cousin !

Should get some really “gnarly” wood out of that for turnings or even small boxes if dried and resawn.
