Born in 1953.
My father was a perfectionist to a large degree in that he always expected us to do our best and to think for ourselves.
My mother was a homemaker. (She was the one that made it home)!
I have two older brothers, an older sister and a younger sister and brother.
My folks required us to participate in mental exorcises such as logic puzzles, wordplay (like punday night where everything at the dinner table had to be said in the form of a pun), math puzzles etc.
Many a time I have been cracked on the head and would hear dad say "use that lump on the top of your shoulders for something besides holding up your hair and hat"!
I will not often repeat a project (unless there is money in it) because I usually get bored once I have learned something.
I am willing to try most anything once. (As long as it is legal and doesn't hurt)
I learned long ago that you should always do your best but that there will always be a job like fixing up the old farm truck, it is not worth turning it into a show rig. Good enough is just that - Good enough!

Ok Dez, quoteing Robert Heinlein, a favorite of mine. Just tell me you know Tom Robbins and we’re gonna be good buddies. LOL. Welcome to LJ.

I’ve heard of him, have not yet read any of his work.
Do you have a favorite that you would recommend to start?
