It’s finally warm enough to work in the shop, I have the materials for my next project sitting on the bench. I’ve been looking forward to this for weeks…
But I got a visit from the insomnia fairy last night, and despite caffeine am still mildly groggy and slow. Too groggy and slow to work smartly or safely.
I love Lumberjocks, but it’s no substitute for actual shop time.

When I have episodes like this I am always regretting that I have not developed my hand skills. Somehow running a planer at 3 in the morning would probably get me yelled at but I could run a jointer plane without any problem at all, if I had developed that skills. Go to bed early tonight, after all March madness is over so there shouldn’t be any games on, and maybe tomorrow you can work some shop time in.

This is a time to design if you can’t actually make it to the shop.

I agree.
Sometimes I too feel that I cannot work safely in the shop . . . its usually when I am coming down with something.
I then steer clear of anything with a cord . . . and that includes vacuums. :-)

I just went to the midnight shift and I’m having trouble getting adjusted enough with my sleep to work safely.
It’ll work it’s way out.
Better to be safe then sorry.
Hang in there.
