Hi all, Hope life is good. Heres a video I made of a Cabinet I was hired to Re-finish. In the video I go over steps I took to pull this task of. I finished the piece with “Sam Maloof” finish I got at my local Rockler.
Hope you enjoy.

wish i could wear my hair that long again….actually wish i had hair again.

i was listening to the beach boys while i watched your video. was the original finish oil, and that is why you did not use a chemical stripper, or do you not like strippers. I would prefer any method other than a stripper, except maybe alcohol for shellac. otherwise, if not thin veneer, then sand, baby, sand.

I have not had time to get a haircut,, Too busy. I was hired to do 4 pieces all were a set. They came form the same maker. All the pieces have a veneer outer. Being that they are 70 years old they really did not have any finish left. I don’t use chemical strippers because I feel it dries the wood out. I’m only 18 years old but was brought up on old school ways of doing things. “Elbow grease”. Also I sanded the pieces with 320 and 400 grit. I had no need to really take off anything so that is also why I just used my PC finish sander and not my PC Radom Orbit.
In my other video, label “Drop Leaf Re-finish I go over why I did the things I did to get the task done.
Thanks for the comments.
