But that’s a good thing!

You see, I’m a rather tech-savvy woodworker. A few months ago, I was surfing looking for woodworking community-type sites. Well, I was rather disappointed, could only find sites that specialized in forums, or products, or were somehow too narrowly focused on one topic.

So I thought to myself: “Hey, I’ll build it!”

Off I went, and I started to do some writing, and eventually put together a website (WoodworkDetails). It’s still a LONG way from being truly ready for public consumption, but it’s a start and it’s fun.

What I really wanted was an INSPIRATIONAL site. A site where users could showcase their projects. I also wanted to have a section for inspirational commercial projects, things that were not user-created, but rather things like museum pieces, collections, or just items out of catalogues that were beautiful. I wanted forums and user-blogs. Tags linknig everything together.

And then I found LumberJocks.

Quick, somebody send Pappy a dollar. Such understanding and appreciation of our marvalous qualities needs to be rewarded.

Pappy forgot, or had not yet found, those that are funny, humorous, wise, sagacious, creative, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean and reverent.

at least you didn’t find us after months and months of coding, on the eve of your sites launch! Now your to-do list just got a lot easier – and a lot more fun!... can still do something with your site – many of us have our own sites and blogs – but the feedback, interaction and ease of use here is so much better…
