Welcome to my basement shop! The basement of my house is split lengthwise, with about 2/3 of the area used for the finished part of the basement (my man cave) and the other 1/3 is my shop. The former homeowner used this area as his workshop as well. He left the lumber rack and cabinets there for me. I bought the lathe from him, which is good because it is heavy!
I’ve made some improvements to the space such as painting the walls white and adding nine 4” 2-lamp flourescent light fixtures to brighten things up. I’ve also added a bunch of receptacles around the perimeter. I try to keep most of my tools mobile, as it is a fairly small space and I am constantly moving things around as needed. I have a Bosch portable table saw, 10” SCMS, router table, Dewalt 13” Planer, Delta benchtop drill press and dust collector, and an old lathe.
Recently a friend of mine gave me a 4” Craftsman jointer and bench grinder combo. I know, 4” is small, but the price was right…free! I’m planning to build a new stand for the jointer so it will take up less space. Right now it’s just plunked down in the middle of the shop. My next tool purchase will likely be a 14” bandsaw.
Thank you for visiting my shop!

Deaser, it looks like you’ve got a very nice shop. Welcome to Lumberjocks.
