So I’ve decided to up my Lumberjocks cred and get rid of that pesky zero next to blog. I’ve always considered myself a math/science oriented person, and the thought of writing only recently appealed to me. In the interest of personal growth, however, here goes nothing. Lumberjocks, not unlike woodworking, is a land much explored, leaving one to search for novelty. One topic that appears to have not been extensively covered, however, is the building of a personal website....

In the age of blogging, it seems that there are an overwhelming amount of ways to obtain an online presence. The free options are plentiful, though they will inevitably leave you with a less than desirable website address (e.g. endings with .blogspot, .wordpress). This led me to investigate buying (or technically renting for a choice of years) a domain name for what I was surprised to discover was a relatively modest sum of $8.99 a year for a .com (though I’m sad to say it’s now...
