      <title>Small Jewelry Chest</title>

        <![CDATA[<p><img alt="Small Jewelry Chest" src="http://lumberjocks.com/assets/pictures/projects/83021-196x130.jpg" /></p><p>Built this chest as a birthday gift for my mom, she collects buttons / pins.</p>


	<p>The case is walnut, the drawers are soft maple with tiger maple fronts.</p>


	<p>The case is finished with two coats of general finish&#8217;s American Classic water based die and several coats of a 2# cut of shellac</p>


	<p>The drawer fronts are finished with a 3 to 1 mixture of general finishes Empire Red and American Classic water based dies.</p>


	<p>A lot of firsts for me on this one, first time making my own molding, first time doing a frame and panel(back) and my first time doing a booked matched panel (back) &#8211; i almost love the back more then i do the front of this piece :)</p>]]>

      <title>Karla's Box</title>

        <![CDATA[<p><img alt="Karla's Box" src="http://lumberjocks.com/assets/pictures/projects/60170-196x130.jpg" /></p><p>This box was an anniversary present for my fiancée and was my first time building a box.  I enjoyed building this one, the one thing that did not go as perfectly as I would like are the hinge mortises, I did these by hand and I am sure I will get better at them with practice.</p>


	<p>Materials: Zebra wood, Walnut Burl veneer, crushed black velvet, brass stop hinges.</p>

	<p>Built out of poplar using Charles&#8217;s finishing schedule ( 3 coats of amber die, 2 coats mahogany gel stain, 2 coats satin gel poly)</p>

      <title>Sandpaper Storage</title>

	<p>I decided this would be both useful for me and good practice.</p>


	<p>&#8212;Carcass is out of 1/2&#8221; ply, with a 3/4&#8221; center support.<br />&#8212;Shelves and back are 1/4&#8221; hardboard.<br />&#8212;pegs for the ROS pads are 3/8&#8221; x 3/4&#8221; nylon spacers (epoxyed).. I was going to use dowels but these let the pads slide on and off freely.</p>]]>
