All good points and well presented. I guess I’m a wood migraineur ;-(( I have spent the last decade dealing with daily migraine finding what works and what doesn’t. Keeping quiet and dark works well but I do not want to spend my life doing that. I have finished up 2010’s processes and procedures. I have had some of the best days in a decade, but it is time to become more active and advance the program. I would like to say you inspired me to move onward, but the threshold was established months ago. I guess if I can take migraines to the shop, you should be able to take the TV ;-))

I read the full post, because I wasn’t able to understand your audio transcript :-). Had I lived for a period of time in uk or in usa when I was young!

Frankly I don’t understand why you (and many others) attach so great importance to the beginning of the new year; I see a similar behavior in the preference that many give to the round figures. They say “new year, new life!”, but in my experience this is the best way to get a “new year-old life” instead.

What about the old dear American “do it!” [now]?

I appreciate the encouragement to get out in the shop and make the chips fly. I’ve been able to accomplish quite a bit this year. Most notably would be getting my ShopSmith permantly mounted in the lathe position, installing a wookbench, creating a mobile cabinet that my drill press sits on, and adding a router table extension to my table saw. You can see these items in a video that I posted to YouTube; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AY6QoqfQwHM. It’s been a good year in the shop. I am much more organized and can work much more efficiently.

Doug, sounds like good progress to me, I remember seeing your shop tour when you posted it, and you definitely have gotten it organized.

Biggest thing for me lately is to clean up before i go in for the night, no matter how tired I am. Just something about walking out into a clean shop the next day that’s ready to be worked in.

Antonio, Most new year’s resolutions are never kept. The top achievers are constantly making changes, not waiting for the calander to turn over a new page. It is little more than a conversation piece, IMO.
