I started actual wood working in 2001 after going to a woodworking show at the Arlington conference center. My first peace was a small coin box I made by hand for a family reunion. Unknown to me my wife wanted it, so when it came time to auction it off she bid on it costing me four times its actual worth after purchase but it was for the reunion. Since then she has supported me in all that I have asked for when it has come to my wood working. She got me my first mini-lathe for Christmas and anything else I have asked for. I am truly blessed to have such a wife. Since then I have built up my shop “2-car garage” with an arsenal of equipment from an ‘84 Shop Smith to a new Hitachi 10” table-saw.

Hi David – thanks for commenting on my chest of drawers.
I see from your projects you’re pretty good on the lathe – my biggest challenge at the moment. Our class lathe is a big old English thing, it’s thrown a few jobs as well as quite a few chisels. No spectators! Does it get easier??
