I don’t know if anyone is interested still but registration is about to open for the SketchUp classes I’m scheduled to teach in Port Townsend. Here’s the text of the e-mail I received.
Online registration for the Sketchup Classes with Dave Richards is about to open at the Peninsula College website. Probably later today. I’ll post the links on our site as soon as I get confirmation.
However the college is taking phone registration starting now. To quote Anna the local registrar:
“Maggie is at the front desk and will take care of enrollments. Students can call her at 360 385 4605. It gets pretty busy this time of year and there are only two lines, so please encourage students to leave a message if it goes to Maggie’s voicemail. She is in the office M-Th 900am-6pm and Fri 9am-1pm.”
It’d be great to meet some LumberJocks there.

It did come that way. I just copied and pasted it. I expect it’s the same e-mail sent to anyone who was on their mailing list and expressed interest in the classes.

Jim,
You could do it.
Maybe we can work something else out.

I would enjoy a course like this but, like Jim, I am too far also.

It’s summer camp for woodworking computer geeks.Sounds like fun. If you need help teaching the Cutlist segment, send me tickets – I’m there – or we could do a tele-teaching thing :)

Thanks Steve,
I’m certainly hoping I can do your plugin justice.
I don’t know what there is for Internet connection yet. I do know that each student will have a computer so it won’t be just watching me draw.
Scott, maybe we can work something out.

Hi Dave,
Maybe I’ll get some proper documentation ready by June or a short tutorial that you could use. I’ve been wanting to put something together anyway.
Our house just sold and we don’t move for another 2 months, so I will have some time ..I hope.

Thank you Steve.
Glad to hear about your house. I’m sure you’re happy to have that out of the way.

Dave,
Just noticed that your classes have been cancelled. Don’t know the circumstances, but I was very interested in the “Designing Furniture..” class. However, I just couldn’t work out all the travel details. Port Townsend is, I’m sure, a lovely place, but not the easiest place to get to- nor the cheapest. If you can work something out in your neck of the woods, I would love to spend a few days studying at the feet of the master!☺☺☺

Thanks Rog.
The classes were cancelled due to lack of warm bodies. We suspect that it was a combination of factors that made it hard to get enough folks to sign up.
I may end up trying to do something locally. Where are you?

I’m in Atlanta, Dave. (Don’t let the palm trees fool you. I only wish…)

Well, palm trees or not, Atlanta’s a bit of a distance from here. If you’re interested in giant mosquitos or frigid cold, Minnesota would be a good place to visit for a SketchUp class. ;)
Welcome to LumberJocks, too.
