elegant. You would have to clone the pieces for that top though.

Well I came close. Still need work on the edges and I don’t know how to change the grain direction of the wood.

Good work Bently.
I drew 1/8th of the table top and made it a component. This was copied around the center point using the Copy/Rotate function. (Ctrl+Rotate, Option+Rotate on Mac) Then I opened one component and applied the material. I aligned the material on the flat surfaces by right clicking on the top face, choosing Texture>Position and then rotating the texture with the green handle.

Thanks, I will give the Texture>Position a try. I drew the octagon and then did one detail, then copied and rotated to each side, For the edge I drew a curve and used the follow me to wrap the outside edge.
Components, hmmmm…..next time I will try a componant. :)
Oh yeah, after I drew the octagon I used the push/pull to make it 3/4” thick.

Bently, I made the rounded edge as a second component. Just for fun, I checked the file size without materials. As component instances it is 103 Kb. With the components exploded so its all one lump of geometry, it’s 805 Kb.

Here’s try #2

Got the grain better. Over did it with the scalloped edges though.

Good, good. It looks like you chose a better material, too.

I gave it my best Dave.

I couldn’t find the texture you used for the cushion, ( good thing ) I would never have gotten it to wrap the edges the way you did anyway. :-)

Very nice work there, Bently. I don’t remember where I found the material for the seat. It’s supposed to represent a seat woven of Danish cord. Yours looks good too.
FWIW that bench is based on Mark Edmundson’s Modern Bench FWW#194

I meant on the real top. The wood grain matches on all the sections and would make the piece beautiful but I don’t know how one would actually do that.
