By the way, the image above, except for being cropped in Picasa, was done entirely within SketchUp. Since we haven’t had a challenge lately, can anyone describe the process?

My Sketchup arc skills are rudimentary. If it’s not a consistent arc I tend to get-out the tablet and draw the arc freehand.

Hi Greg. I wasn’t referring to the arcs. I was referring to making the entire picture.

By the way, there are a couple of plugins for drawing non-circular curves.

I’ll have to check-out those arc plugins.

Not sure how you got multiple face styles in one view in Sketchup. Interested to hear the method.

Since that part is supposed to be a little challenge, I’ll wait to see if anyone else chimes in.

How’s this?

Photobucket

I probably did it differently, but I first got the background style of the image the way I wanted it. Exported as graphics, go to Window, Styles, Edit, Watermark and add it as the background image for the original.

Excellent work Greg. That’s how I did it. Takes longer to decide on the display style than to actually do the thing.

What did you use for the style for the background image?

In Sketchup 7 under styles there is a Style Builder Competition Winners category. I chose Pencil on Light Brown.

Greg, I thought it looked familiar. I probably have a hundred different styles and I can’t remember all of them.

Jim, that’ll work for you for awhile but one day I’m gonna get you hooked up and you’ll be flying. ;)
