Shopsmith Mark V (500) Restoration Project

Just picked up this 1953 Mark V. It was my Dad’s and it is the saw I used for my first wood project. Not sure how I’m going to use it but I’m just starting a complete restorationl. I’ll post pictures when it’s done.

Assembly Table for Shop

Just finished this assembly table.

Top: 36” x 84”
Height: 35”
Cost: about $150
Features: Laminate top, All plywood construction, Levelers

This table will eventually become the out feed table for my cabinet saw. For now it is my assembly table. The top is flat.

Router Table / Cabinet

Size: 48” x 30” x 36” tall
Cost: close to $500 including the router and fence.
Router: Freud 2 1/4hp with above the table bit change and adjustment
Fence: Freud (soon to be replaced with a shop built)
Base: Shop built. engineered lumber (timberstrand)

Description: Top is laminated (top and bottom), made out of 2 pieces of 3/4 inch MDF. Cabinet is on rollers, 2 fixed, 2 swivel with double locking. T-tracks for miter gauge and fence alignment. Fence and below table dust collection. Router speed control and receptacles for tool plug ins.
