Planer Feed Problem - 12 replies
Hello, I have a Rigid 4330 Planer that generally works well. The only issue is that there seems to be an issue with the board feed. I do occasionally clean the feed rollers, but it doesn’t seem to last long and but it does seem to help. I also keep the infeed, outfeed and bottom surface waxed. I am making a marking Gage and Everything is done except the cutter. What do you folks use for the blade? I have read of people using nails, Welding rod, Tool steel, etc. I have nails, drill bits I can cut off, Sheet stock (unsure how I can cut it and leave a clean flat edge). I live in Norwich, NY. I have loads of trees down that are left over from logging. I am considering having someone come in with a portable mill. We’ll cut up what we can, you get half, I get half. There are several species, Oak, Maple, Ash, etc. Send me a PM if interested.
