Project Musings and Unfortunate Interruptions
I got a start on a whirligig for the 2014 Whirligig Wars. After the proof of concept, I got a few of the parts cut out and then decided some of the parts need to be out of thinner wood.
Then a friend of ours passed away. This friend was what I call our church widow. She has absolutely no family, but a prepaid arrangement to pay for the cremation. I decided I should use the walnut drawer fronts I found to make an appropriate box for her remains. Our pastor will be receiving the ashes this week and the memorial service is next week. I'll have the urn finished by then and I'll post it as a project. Our pastor also has a suitable place arranged for her interment.
Another project is a cart for our cooler. Earlier this year we ended up carrying our cooler about a half mile into the woods. The whole time I was trying to figure out how to put wheels on the thing. Later this year we'll be taking the same cooler to the beach. We usually end up walking about 2 blocks to get to the beach itself, so I'm looking around to make a cart. I'm thinking something along the lines of a small hand truck would be good. Just two wheels and a support so it can rest level on the beach. I think I still have 2 Lawnmower wheels somewhere…
Stay tuned.
