The Winter Doldrums

I’m embarrassed to admit that I haven’t done a thing in my shop since November unless you count the Christmas tree I made.

We don’t have any kids in the house to nag us to death about getting a tree and our dogs aren’t any help in motivating us to get one. They always seem surprised that they have new toys on Christmas morning, even after the big decoration session of the night before.

In any event, we had no tree, so I took a couple or three 1×2s, split them and made a triangular outline of a tree. Adding a few (6) strings of red lights, and viola, a tree. Sort of.

Next year my wife wants to re-do it, more in the shape of a tree than a triangle.

Atta Boy!! Save a tree. Instead of hauling it to a land fill. Maybe you can reuse the 1×2s. LOL

Don’t feel badly about not getting into the shop, DD. I’ve been the exact same way. Of course, my shop isn’t heated and it’s 31 degrees out, so… it is a chilling venture, indeed.

Unfortunately, contest deadlines don’t get pushed back because of weather, so I guess I’d better figure out a way to get in there and get back to work.

ditto on what Ethan said…. If I didn’t have to fetch tools, or put stuff in the freezer, i’d have forgotten what the basement looks like (And how utterly messy it is!)

but the mess can wait, I have a contest to win!
