« Part 2: Tweaks to my Fremont Bed Done Part 3 of Tweaks #1 series no next part

With the bed set up in short rails I think its easier to see the effect of the upturned top cap

I will post both the original mahogany bed without the upturn and the revised bed with the upturn (in cherry)

They are both very nice Darrell.

The upturned cap seem to give the piece an Asian flair.

As noted both are beautiful, but the up flair cap definitely accents the Asian influence found in G&G. The up flair does a very nice job of continuing the flair at the top of the side, vertical posts. I definitely like your modification!

of course all of your work is beautiful and you’re a master of green and green, but i do like the change with the upturn, they both have there place , i would love to see the one in cherry after it has had its time to darken, i made a tv tray with several wide pieces of cherry in it and the one side has darkened to a beautiful darker shade and i really love it,

I like them both. Do you have a favorite?

Thanks everyone,
DocSavage – I prefer the one with the upturn.

Very beautiful bed Darrell. I like the straight one best but I would be more than glad to have either one.
