I am curious, how does the Japan Drier work, how much time does it cut off?

I’ve been using Japan dryer for many years and have saved dozens of hours of wait time. I would guess it is ready to put a coat of shellac in a few hours. It is dry to the touch in less then 2 hours. Will put a spit spray coat and let it sit overnight.

Dan, That is going to look great. If I may ask what are the proportions on the dye mix and do you mix the nutmeg and red mahogany stain together or put them on separately and in which order? Or is it all mixed together and then applied…. I hope this isn’t a trade secret….

no secrets here …. I mix the oil stain in the jar…. about a half a can of gel stain and 1/3 can of mahogany and big ole splash of dryer. Put it on quick or it will start to dry. Keep it wet and rag it off.

mix the dye so it looks like really dark ink. it really varies. Actually the ratio was a little light on this jar.
