Hey Dan
That’s cool…I have been living in the virtual design world for some time now. Sketchup is awesome…once you get used to using the tools you will love it. The best thing about it is you get instant gratification. AutoCADs 3D tools can be a little cumbersome, but Sketchup has a great flow, and some really great built in drawing guides… aka snaps, line colors based on x,y and z axis, etc. One thing about it though, you might want to go in the setup and bump up the precesion. I have found that exporting to .dwg and importing into AutoCAD things wern’t measuring out the way they should have been. I gennerally use Sketchup to work out a concept and to build a model of the finneshed piece to render and make prints from. I do all my measured drawings in AutoCAD. I just like the prescesion of it. If you have any questions about Sketchup don’t hesitate to shoot me a message..I’m no expert but I have been using it for a while and I know my way around it pretty good!

PS Here in CT Pratt used to be huge! They are still here but not as dominant as they used to be..I remember growing up that was “the” job to have!

Hi Dan, Lime is a ‘soft’ hardwood, excellent for carving as it so soft, also it has very little grain figure and therefore doesn’t detract from the finished design, in America it is more commonly known as Basswood.

I’m going to be doing the holiday shop (santa’s work shop) for a few of the local schools in my area ! I’m looking for ideas for fast , easy projects with little cost to make , so I can donate them for the under privileged childeren to give to their parents for the holidays (x-mas & such) . Childern of all walks of life also find joy in giving to their parents and other family members on the holidays , It gives them a sense of pride, and happyness! The school asks that I make sure that it would be something of a non-religious background to all cultures !If anyone has any plans or ideas please send them to me soon december 17th is my deadline. Thank you everyone that took the time to read this !Happy thanks giving!!!!!

All works of quality must bear a price in proportion to the skill, time expense and risk attending to their invention and manufacture. Those things called dear, are, when justly estimated, the cheapest. They are attended with much less profit to the artist then those things which everbody calls cheap.

Hi Dan, Thanks for the compliments. Thought I’d visit your work. WOW! Haven’t seen such masterful tiles, framed and mounted so expertly too, a real bonus. Great tour of your projects, really super! I have no idea what all that stuff means in your intro, but if it helps you with your projects , that’s great.
