I'm a software engineer and I'm currently working for Intuit (the people that make Quicken and TurboTax). In fact, I'm working on TurboTax 2008 right now, but don't blame me if something goes wrong :)

But when it's time to give my brain a rest and do something with my hands, I head for the garage where I'm building my dream shop (or at least what can fit in a two car garage that I share with a WaveRunner and the hounds from hell).

So since space is limited, I've tried to be very clever about its use. Everything needs to be compact, efficient, and, if possible, dual-purpose.

For instance, the bench I built is a workbench, an outfeed table, a downdraft table, a finishing table, a clamping table and has some storage as well.

I think you exceeded your “dual purpose” goal. Better give some purposes back. Seriously—welcome to LJ’s!

Welcome to Lumberjocks. The projects are an inspiration, the information is priceless and the people are supportive. The only problem is, the site can get addictive.
God Bless
