Our (my partner in all things Charlene and my) shop is a 16x19 building with a 6" thick soil living roof (growing strawberries and sedums) in our back yard. It’s a little bit tight, but organization in it is getting better. The walls are staggered stud construction, fully insulated to minimize sound transmission, and because of the insulation the city made me do Title 24 energy conservation calculations, which you can’t do without specifying climate control system, so it’s got heating and cooling.
We use a Festool saw on a rail as our primary saw, eschewing a table saw for space and safety reasons. Our projects are varied, from cabinets for the kitchen to a sailboat to home refurbishment to whatever else catches our ADD attention span.
