I have been swamped under by the bathroom remodel that I've been blogging about over at Home Refurbers and at my own site, but I figured I’d toss a little of the in-progress woodworking over here.

So here’s the paper holder, we’re still tweaking the finish on this wood (it’s either Ipé or Sapele) to match the other stuff, and trying to make sure we get more of the right other stuff to match the towel bars (which I, apparently, don’t have a good picture of right now).

Good looking TP holder Dan. You know what they say – “no job is complete until the paperwork is done? :-)

Hi Dan,

Nice to see someone from my neck of the woods.
We should meet some day.

I’m still in the trades in Sebastopol, we do a lot of high end work and may be able to shoot some work your way.

All the best,

The most impotant piece in the house and it looks great.

Thanks for the kind words, all!

And Rick, yes, we should definitely meet up! I work in Santa Rosa and am in Sebastopol to square dance a night or two a week. Right now I’m just a hobbyist with the wood (aside from some tech product prototyping I’ve done in the shop), but I have had several people see the towel bars and say “you should sell those”, so as the bathroom wraps up I’m going to try to set up a semi-production line, make a batch of them, and see what it really costs to make them.

Speaking of which, a few snapshots of those towel bars (and yes, the wall behind these things still needs some work and paint…)
