Just finished preliminary assembly on 4 trebuchets to hand out for the Holidays to various kids in my life. These are patterned on the Hila Trebuchet, I’m having some trouble getting a consistent release, and I need to come up with some heavier ballasts, but it’s good to get ‘em off the workbench and to the next stage.

Great gifts. I assume you are giving these away with helmets, goggles, and bullet proof vests in line with current practice. LOL.

Unfortunately, I got talked down from my original scale on such things, but I’m planning a workshop for the back yard, and I’m thinking that the 2×4s from the forms will have concrete on ‘em, so they’ll be unusable for construction, but might be suitable to hurl a small chil… uh… watermelon a good distance…
