I'm originally from Newport, KY but had been in the Army for almost 24 years and retired in Carthage, NY. I really only got into woodworking about 6 years ago and haven't found much time for it but I hope to change that. A couple years overseas, plus the 138 year old house I bought have taken a lot of my time. Just in the last few months though, I bought a sliding compound miter saw, a new router, a jointer, a planer, some turning tools for the lathe I bought a couple years ago and most recently, a bandsaw. Most of these were things I found used on Craigslist except for the new Steel City bandsaw which I decided on partly after reading the review on LJs. I haven't made too many projects and most of the ones I made, I didn't photograph before giving away as gifts. It seems every time I searched for reviews or "how to" on something, this website kept coming up and I got a lot of great info from you guys on here so I figured I would join and share a few things that may help out someone else new to this as well as taking advantage of all the shared knowledge on here.

Take of your boots and set awhile. Looking at your sign single corp jumps out at me. Its a little strange to actually think about settling in and looking ahead. I did after 27 but that got a little derailed when my wife decided she wanted to go home. 5 winters up north and NYS property and we’re headed back to KY, just outside Mount Sterling. Great thing is LJ’s go with you any where you go. Any way welcome to the family and if no ones told you its addictive.

Welcome to LJ’s. Love your projects and can’t wait to see more. Ever thought about adding a picture or two of your workshop? I’m in the middle of a workshop redo and would love to see what surrounds that great drill press of yours.
