Painting Over Rust Question - 8 replies

In the past week my brother and I have been rebuilding an older lathe. We have got all the paint removed, but there was quite a bit of rust also that was removed. Is there any paint/ primer that we could apply to keep future rust down before applying the paint? Thanks!

Makita Belt Sander Sparking in Armature? - 19 replies

My aging Makita 9401 belt sander began sparking abnormally around the armature. Has anyone ever had this happen or know what may be the cause of it? Leaving Batteries on Charger - 25 replies

Recently I have been wondering, is it a problem to leave your cordless tool batteries on the charger even after they are finished charging? I have Porter Cable drill set, and there are times where I forget to remove them after they are finished charging. Is this a problem? Will it limit the life of the batteries? Thanks!

General International Bandsaws - 2 replies

Does anyone know anything about General International’s bandsaw (model #90-140, #90-125, or #90-120)? Are they good quality workhorses and good for resawing? How would they compare to other brands like Jet, Powermatic, Delta, Rikon, etc.? Thanks for any advice.

There is a 14in Jet JWB 140S bandsaw on craigslist right now going for $345. It is the older blue model and looks like there is a little blt of rust on the table. Looks from the pics that there is a movable base but not fence and does’t say the hp. Is that a resonable price? thanks
