Where to start? I’ve wanted a woodshop for some twenty years, probably closer to thirty though (man I’m getting old). Been a DIY’er for that long, but NO workshop. It’s hard working (side jobs) out of a small apartment and an even smaller SUV. About a year and a half ago, I moved into yet another rental. This time however, it came with a basement!!! Yee Haa, FINALLY, I have shop space. Potential shop space that is. I started scouring CL, garage sales and of course the Big Blue & BORG. Boy, do I have a few “Tool Gloats” lined up! Problem is, that basement is jammed packed (picture the TV show Hoarders) with the lifetime collection of a wonderful 95 year old widow. That’s been my dilemma for the last year or so. Suffice it to say, after removing two dumpsters worth of STUFF, plumbing repairs, structural repairs & painting, I have a “workable” shop. My first project will be an “Air Cleaner”. Once that is done, I will do a real project.
My first real WW project will be for my mother. Who doesn’t love their mother? It will be a “Burial Flag Case” for my fathers funeral flag. He served in SAC during Korea. He also did maintenance on “Air Force One” for JFK. This project needs to be special! I could use a unique plan, if anyone has one?
My shop is in it’s infancy, as are my skills. So, please be kind as I post projects and the like, as I’m a talentless idiot!!!
I have a blog of my basement transformation: from Dugeon to Lair, should you be interested. If not here are some pictures.
Hope you enjoy the pictures.
