I am somewhat new to woodworking. What I lack in experience I make up for in sawdust.

elcome, its a great community. When you are ready to post projects try not to post more than one per day. It gives every body a chance to comment and it doesn’t push everybody off the display page. Have fun.

Thanks for the warm welcome. I have a Craftsman 10” TS and Craftsman 6” joiner that I picked up for under $200 at an estate sale a few years ago. I also picked up a Craftsman router for $20 at an estate auction and have built a table for it that clamps to my WorkMate. I have a decent collection of hand tools that I have picked up along the way. Last summer my uncle introduced me to Lee Valley Tool catalog. I now know where I will blow the lottery $ when I hit it. I will try to get some pictures of my projects on here tonight. I made a walnut with maple burl lid jewlery box for my wife last Christmas (2009), that I think turned out well for my first true woodworking project. Learned ALOT on that one. Turned too much walnut into sawdust, but the look on her face was worth it.

Welcome to Lumberjocks. The projects are an inspiration, the information is priceless and the people are supportive. The only problem is, the site can get addictive.

God Bless

Hi there,
Welcome to LumberJocks… I joined the site myself just about 2 years ago and will give you fair warning, this site is VERY ADDICTIVE, VERY EDUCATIONAL, and VERY FUN…. so sit back, enjoy the ride and learn from the other LJ’s as they are a group of extremely talented people that are also very friendly…
I apologize for the late welcome but I am currently serving overseas and don’t have a lot of spare time on my hands.

Enjoy your time here on LJ and pass the word to any of your woodworking buddies about us…

Have your say...
